Describe yourself in three words:

Diligent. Inquisitive. Ambitious.

What are you most excited about for your internship at Next Step Communications?

I’m excited to dive in and learn! Understanding how PR works in a healthcare context will be particularly interesting, as I see myself working in healthcare in some capacity post graduation.

What’s your favorite class you’ve taken so far and why?

My favorite class thus far has been health economics, which I am taking this semester. I love this class because of its relevance and applicability. The subject material is incredibly engaging and my professor’s enthusiasm for healthcare research and reform is inspiring. A significant amount of the class is devoted to class discussion and participation. Hearing my peers’ opinions and experiences with the healthcare system is opening my eyes to many issues I had been previously unaware of.

What do you like to do outside of work / school?

Outside of work and school, I use exercise, particularly spin classes, to decompress and relax. I’m prone to overthinking, and working out helps me clear my head after a busy or stressful day. I’ve always loved music, so once I was exposed to spin classes’ rhythmic quality, I was hooked. I’m hoping to get my teaching certification for spin next year.

Tell us two truths and a lie!

I’ve broken my arm four times; I’ve traveled to every continent; and I’ve never eaten a whole banana.

One thing on your Boston Bucket List?

The Freedom Trail – not because I think I’d find it particularly enjoyable, but just because I feel like I should do it at some point if I ever want to be considered a true Bostonian.
